Romina Gingașu, the wife of billionaire Piero Ferrari, has reportedly been referenced in Romania’s “prostitution with celebrities” case.

The matter allegedly came to light after one of the individuals investigated for pimping, Dumitru Mirela Alexandra, was placed under a restriction prohibiting contact with witnesses or other alleged participants in the offenses. Among those reportedly listed was Romina Mirela Gingașu, according to Romania TV.

Romina Gingașu has also been linked to several controversies in recent years and has described herself as an active real-estate investor, stating that she acquires properties during favorable market conditions. According to Romania TV, her transactions have focused on luxury areas of Bucharest, including the Floreasca district and the northern part of the city, with deals reportedly totaling around €10 million over a relatively short period.
It has been suggested that Gingașu benefited from the public profile associated with her marriage to Ferrari and has since pursued high-end real-estate investments in Bucharest’s premium neighborhoods. Reports further claim that she took advantage of the real-estate market downturn during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued to develop property projects thereafter.

The relationship between Italian billionaire Piero Ferrari and Bucharest-born Romina Gingașu reportedly began in 2016, when they met at a private airport in Milan. He was waiting for a helicopter, while she was employed by an aviation company selling luxury aircraft to wealthy clients. After approximately a year of attempts to sell him an aircraft, the billionaire eventually contacted her, the Romanian has recounted.
“I had already lost any hope that I could sell him a plane,” she said. However, Ferrari allegedly called not to purchase an aircraft but to invite her to a romantic dinner in Monaco on February 14, 2017, Valentine’s Day. About a month after that dinner, the two reportedly moved in together near Maranello, home to Ferrari’s renowned automotive factory, and have remained together since.
Romanian media have also reported that Gingașu was previously in a relationship with Silvius, the younger son of businessman Silviu Prigoană, while Ferrari divorced Floriana Nalin in 2019 after a marriage lasting around 50 years.

In 2021, Romina Gingașu officially became Mrs. Ferrari when she formalized her relationship with Piero at the Canzone del Mare restaurant on the island of Capri in southern Italy. A highlight of the wedding was singer Albano, reportedly invited by Ferrari after learning that the bride’s parents named her Romina inspired by Romina Power, Albano’s former musical and life partner.
In Italy, the couple are said to be involved in activities surrounding Formula 1 events, a major global industry. Gingașu has reportedly stepped back from aviation to dedicate time to the foundation established decades ago by Piero Ferrari’s father, Enzo Ferrari, following the death of his son Dino, which supports individuals with neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions. Despite their notable age difference, the couple have publicly described their relationship as strong and enduring.
Piero Ferrari has also been reported to mark milestones with lavish gifts. For their ninth anniversary, he allegedly purchased Gingașu a private jet valued at approximately €32 million — a Bombardier Challenger 3500, considered one of the most refined and high-performance private aircraft available and a symbol of luxury and comfort. According to sources close to the couple, they have visited the Bombardier facility in Montreal several times to monitor the aircraft’s progress.
